Farmington Addition
Project Location
Farmington Addition is located in Newcastle one half mile East of HWY 76 on
S.E. 16th Street. Site access is obtained from S.E. 16th Street on the North
and Portland Ave. on the East.
Project Description
This 80 acre phased development started construction in the Fall of 2006. Lot
sizes range from 7,500 to 8,000 square feet. Paving will be constructed with
curb and gutter to meet City of Newcastle standard requirements. On site
drainage is contained within the curbed street and a system of storm sewer
inlets and pipe.
Special Considerations
This property is very flat. Drainage has proved to be challenging because of a
lack of minimum grade across the 80 acre site. Storm pipes are large
because Time of Concentration for rainfall is high. A detention pond collects
drainage at the Northeast Corner and controls site runoff.
